Election day is around the corner and the 9th of August is D-day. You might be aware that this day is a public holiday and, at Glovo, we respect all couriers’ democratic right to vote.
How to stay safe during delivery
From past experiences, we’ve learnt that election periods in Kenya can heat up opinions and feelings.
To take precautions, we advise you to keep a cool head during this time. Please be more alert and mindful of your surroundings. We ask you to avoid dangerous areas.
What should I do if there are problems?
If there are any problems or incidents that could jeopardize your safety during election day and the election period, please make sure you do one of the following:
Call Rescue Co using 0711 911 911
Click on the SOS button in the courier profile and dial that number
Use chat support if you can’t reach Rescue Co
The rescue team will assist with your particular need. Remember that towing, security and ambulances are free!
There will be security teams working with Glovo through Rescue Co during the period to ensure couriers’ safety.
Share emergency contact details with Glovo
To be prepared for emergencies during the election period, we ask you to share with us contact details of your emergency contact.

What do I need to consider when delivering?
With a few tips, you will deliver from A to B during the election period with peace of mind and be prepared for emergencies. Before you start delivering, try to follow these 4 tips:
1. Book only the slots you’ll use: Plan your schedule carefully to prevent last minute cancellations or no-shows. Remember that this can have a negative impact on your Excellence Score and impact late ability, future slots.
2. Set on your notifications: We’ll keep you informed of any changes in the city via the Glovo Courier app and text messages. Make sure your notifications are enabled to receive messages from Glovo.
3. Be prepared in your home: Try to stock up on essentials in your home. We recommend that you have enough water at home, for example.
4. Identify the location of the Glovo Center: The Glover Center will be accessible to couriers during the period and should couriers wish to seek refuge or rest at the Glover Center during the collaboration, they can do so.
