Glovo, in collaboration with GIZ, a German service provider for international education curated a training for delivery riders called “Skills 4 Riders”. The training started on the 23rd of October and ran till the 18th of November.
The training took place at the GIZ training Centre and was aimed at training 200 riders across different e-commerce platforms.
GIZ however contracted a consulting firm called Core Academy, who have experience in using e-learning platforms and physical trainings.
Couriers were trained on safety, financial literacy amongst other topics that will be beneficial to their job and personal development.
Glovo, reached out to couriers via a google form to know who would be interested and over 300 couriers responded. GIZ contacted the interested couriers and batched them for the training.
Each training held for a week and on the final day, couriers were offered a certificate of participation (certified by MoT, NIPOST, LASDRI, GIZ and EU) helmet, reflective jacket, stipend and feeding
The First graduates were very excited and grateful for the experience Glovo and GIZ gave them. They said they had learned a lot and would surely pass on the information to their fellow Glovers.
