Facial Recognition

The facial recognition system allows to inspect rented accounts and guarantee your safety, as well as that of other users. The facial recognition process helps to ensure that the person who is registered to connect to Glovo App is the same that uses the account. At Glovo, we do not allow shared accounts and consider this as fraud.

You will receive a message and the identity verification will appear on your app profile. Don’t worry if you haven’t received it yet, the verification process is random and will be sent to all couriers at different times.

To complete the facial recognition process, you will be asked to take a selfie and scan a valid ID with a picture. You can use the following documents:
Passport
Residence Permit
Identity Card
Driver’s License
The ID document data to the information given during the onboarding process will be compared. The selfie check helps to compare to the photo of the ID document.

Once you’ve passed the facial recognition process, you might be asked to take a photo of your face before connecting with the app again.

If you fail the facial recognition process, your account will be deactivated and you will receive an email so you can appeal the decision. Your case will be reviewed and the final decision communicated. Your account will remain locked during the verification process.

If you have issues with the facial recognition process, make sure to follow the five tips:
The identification document (Residence Title, Passport, Identity Card or Driver’s License) must be fully visible in the photos
Make sure that the photo of the identification document has no reflections or fingers that partially hide the information
The identification document must be in good condition (no rips, stains that hide the photo and/or data)
Make sure your selfie is taken in good condition. Your face must be completely visible (no mask, glasses, helmet…)
Make sure your selfie was taken in a properly lit place (avoid taking photos in very dark or backlit environments)

Should you still not be able to complete the facial recognition, please contact support.

All information on data protection, namely with regard to the processing of your data within the framework of this authentication process, are explained in clause 8 of the privacy policy.
