Breaking the Stereotype!! – Meet our female rider.

26th April 2024 · 2'

When we talk about couriers in Ghana the last thing you would think of is female couriers, especially in these parts of Accra.
Today we meet Linda Martey who is defying the status quo to become a courier in Accra.
Glovo appreciates all couriers and we want to give a special shout-out to our female couriers today. We were able to catch up with Linda and she was able to share some of her thoughts and experiences with us.

How did you become a Glover.

I became a Glovo rider through Gigmile Technologies, the company which provided me with a motorbike

I joined Glovo because of the good things I heard about them: You decide when, where, and how to work. You are your own boss with Glovo. The amount of money you get to earn as a Glover definitely attracted me as well.

What are the reactions you get when people see a female rider?

People are always surprised when they realize I am a female rider. No one expects this and they are usually very excited to meet me.

How long have you been on Glovo and how has the experience been so far?

I joined Glovo on 28th April 2022 and I have done close to 100 orders on the platform. The experience has been very good so far. Everyone from the Glovo team to the customers has been very supportive and helpful.

Would you suggest Glovo to your friends?

I would definitely recommend Glovo to my friends like I said you get to be your own boss and there is nothing as fulfilling as that.
